Delicata squash is a variety of winter squash with cream-coloured cylindrical fruits striped in green or orange that are cooked. As its name suggests, it has characteristically a delicate rind. It is also known as peanut squash, Bohemian squash, or sweet potato squash.
 
These are great squash to grow in smaller spaces as they can be trained up a trellis fairly easily, and they grow fast, due to small size, usually one pound of a bit less. They store well, and they taste amazing when roasted. Best part is you don’t need to remove the skins before eating, as they are very thin. I love these little squash.
